Moroccan prisons are holding a total of 131 death row prisoners, five of whom are women. Morocco is to participate in the third World Congress Against the Death Penalty opening today in Paris. Amnesty International said at least 1,770 people were known to have been executed and 3,900 people sentenced to death during 2005, based on public reports.
